Aloha!! Devin and I are so excited to share this Hawaii wedding with the internet. From San Francisco, CA to Oahu, HI, we got to photograph the wedding of our dreams. Thank you to all the family and friends that made this day so fun. I had to start off with the best photographs of the day…I mean COME ON. At the very beginning of the day Kayla told me she wanted to jump in the pool at the end. Which, I was very okay with. It was SO worth it.
This wedding had all the details. Knowing Kayla, I am not surprised at all. She is the Type A friend we all want and need. Although I must applaud Bruno for finding the snake belt and matching snake shoes. A tip for our upcoming couples, keep everything that could be used for detail shots! Even if it is something as small as the color swatches from Birdy Grey, or the scraps from your dress after it is tailored. We love to get creative with this part of your wedding photography gallery.
The venue was set up into three parts. The lodge (where the family got to stay for the few days before the wedding and the day after), the ceremony space (see above), and the reception tent. The “bridal suite” was the master bedroom of the lodge. It was a little dark in there, however we were able to get some great shots of the bride and her party getting ready together. It for sure was one of the better bridal suites than those in The Bay Area.
Yes. Just yes.
Moving along to the ceremony…this really shows off why photographing a wedding in Hawaii has been a bucket list item as a professional photographer. The greenery is so natural and beautiful. I do love photographing along the coast of California and the city of San Francisco, but being immersed in the tropical beauty of Oahu was incredible.
Sadly, we didn’t have a ton of time between the ceremony and the reception for portraits of the bride & groom. However, during this time we made some magic happen. Again, the lushness, the greenery, the soft light…*heart eyes*
Okay to finish off this gallery, we got some reception photos…this reception did not disappoint!!! Everyone was dancing, drinking, and goofin’. As a professional wedding photographer, receptions like this, are why I love what I do.
Thank you to Kayla and Bruno for flying us out from San Francisco to photograph your beautiful wedding day in Oahu, Hawaii!
